‘Bands at the Broom’ music, beer and cider festival is set to return this spring bank holiday and raise vital funds for veterans’ charity Woundcare4heroes.
The popular annual event which takes place at Broom Hall Inn, Bidford Road, Broom, near Bidford-on-Avon, on Sunday May 27 includes acts: KTO, Fearless Scoundrels, Surrge, Ade Hayes, Conor Hayes, Anthill Mob and Wychwood Folk Rock.
Organiser John “Hoppy” Hopkins said: “It’s a great day out. We cater for everyone as much as we can from sixties music through to modern folk and rock. We mix it all up.”
In addition to live music from seven local bands between 1pm and 11pm, family attractions include a barbecue, hog roast, bouncy castle, face painting, fun competitions and games.
There will be real ale and real cider on tap.
Pub landlord David Carvell said the event attracted about 1,000 people last year. “We’ve been running this festival for eight years and it’s growing bigger every year.
“It’s a family day and phenomenal value for money. The bands give all their time for nothing. They showcase their music and it’s such a positive event, we have people queueing up to do it.”
Admission is £5 on the door with under-10s admitted free of charge. Profits will be shared between Woundcare4heroes, the UK’s only specialist charity for veterans’ wound care and Warwickshire Air Ambulance.
